NTT: "Wagneramente" seems like a word Grainger would have used, though this sounds maybe a bit late for him. I was also getting Russian vibes, but more along the lines of Shostakovich. Sounds like piano four-hands to me.

I'm also happy NTT is staying. While I don't often participate (though I did get one right, once), it's very fun and helps me discover new work.

I also have to echo what you're saying about YouTube Premium. I've been a subscriber since it was YouTube Red and it's been fundamental in my daily listening, studying, and discovery. Every time I try to use another service I find it maddening. Spotify will turn any playlist of any classical into something that eventually only plays "covers" of Claire de Lune, the Op. 9 No. 2 Nocturne, and Canon in D. Amazon Music does this sooner. I don't know about Apple Music. Only with Youtube have I been able to maintain long playlists that feel cohesive and don't get cluttered with top 40 classical hits.

I too am glad that NTT is sticking around because I enjoy playing it.

Speaking of which: I think Jeremy's onto something with the 4-hands or 2-piano thing. And of course the "Wagneramente" clue gives some help, in that this piece must come from a time after which Wagner's reputation had been established, say 1865 at the earliest.

I think the clusters point to a much more recent vintage however, and I hear the workings of one of the Russian goofball composers. It certainly could be Schnittke, and I'm sure Joey would love to beat me at my own game. I'm leaning more towards, say, Rodion Shchedrin or Sofia Gubaidulina. That's my basket.

NTT was aways too hard for me (except on the rare occasion the clip was written in the 16th century :-)), so what I enjoyed about it was listening to you hosts reason about it. I’m still listening but I wouldn’t be heart-broken if it went away.

I'm pleased the NTT is continuing, as that means I can continue submitting the backlog of clips I've assembled.

But I continue to be a bad guesser as I have no clue on this one...uhhh...piano (was that 4-hands or am I not aware what 2 hands are capable of doing?). I'm gonna guess post-Wagner (wow going out on a limb here).
